Theocracy of Xochimechatl
TELECOMMUNICATIONS

Telephones
Access to telephones is not universal, but has become common enough. The average Xochimechatlan home is likely to have a telephone, although this would not have been the case only a few years ago. Most homes on the southeast coast (near Ravenniara) are likely to have telephones, but rural households are less likely to have access.

The telephone network in Xochimechatl is generally fairly poor, but is still operable. The quality of the lines is often bad, and the network occasionally collapses for a short time, but it generally serves the function required of it.

There are two main telephone companies in Xochimechatl. Ravenniara Telecom is the largest, and is based in the Lendian-speaking areas of the country. Xochimechatlan Telephone and Telegraph Company (XTTC) is the largest company in the rest of the country. Their networks are interlinked.

Internet
The vast majority of Xochimechatlan citizens to not have access to the internet, mostly as a result of its high price. In general, internet access is limited to a small number of homes, with others simply not able to afford it. In recent times, however, the number of "internet cafes" in major cities has grown quite considerably, meaning that less wealthy citizens can sometimes gain access to the internet for a brief time without paying too great a cost.

There are three main internet service providers (ISPs) in Xochimechatl. The two main telephone providers mentioned above (Ravenniara Telecom and XTTC) provide internet access, as does a smaller ISP based in the north, ChitecNet.
