Theocracy of Xochimechatl
CURRENCY

The currency of the Theocracy of Xochimechatl is known as the Xaca. This is not an official currency, however, as the government does not consider it to be part of its function to maintain a system of legal tender. Instead, the Xaca is produced and maintained by the United Monasteries of Meko'u, which serve as a sort of central bank for the Xochimechatlan economy. Most local authorities are willing to recognize the Xaca, and the Xaca is almost universally used for financial transactions within the country. Most external deals, however, are usually made in Christianan Crowns or Lendosan Coronalos, which are regarded as being "safer".

The Xaca is set by the United Monasteries as being worth half a Lendosan Coronalo (Lendosa being Xochimechatl's largest trade partner due to the historical ties between the two states). This means that its exchange rate versus the Christianan Crown (against which most currencies are measured) emerges to be one Xaca for a fifth (0.2) of a Crown. In reality, however, unofficial exchange rates can vary considerably from these set values (despite deviation being illegal in some cities).

The Xaca consists of one hundred Xacatloci. The Xaca takes the form of a paper note, while the Xacatloci takes the form of coins.
